Green tea Extract
Green tea is made from the leaves from the Camellia Sinensis and well-known for its high content of antioxidants. These natural antioxidants have been suggested to protect the skin against UV-induced damage and skin aging.
Green tea is native to China and India and is famous globally for its many benefits. Many ancestral medicines from these cultures contain this plant as the main ingredient.
Potent antioxidant: The most dominant antioxidant in green tea is epigallocatechin-3-gallate, or simply EGCG, protects the skin from free radicals, sun damage, and other factors associated with premature aging. Recent studies have found that EGCG can reactivate dying skin cells.
Anti-inflammatory properties: Its high content of polyphenols help reduce irritation, redness, and swelling. After an intense workout routine skin will be prone to irritation and redness. Green tea is a great ingredient to calm your skin; it also contains caffeine and tannins, which are related to treating puffy eyes and dark circles.
Shea butter comes from the nut of the African Karite tree (Vitellaria Paradoxa). This tree grows along the west African coast and Sudan. Shea butter has been used in Africa for many years to smooth dry skin and swelling skin. In the past few years, shea butter has become a popular ingredient in cosmetic products due to its high vitamin content (A, E, F) and emollient properties.
Sun protection properties: Shea Butter is abundant of cinnamic acid esters. This compound functions as a UV ray absorbing agent, thus making it a natural sun protection filter.
Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties: Phytosterols and cinnamic acid present contribute to this by reducing redness, irritation, and help skin recover from wounds faster. It also helps to soothe insect bites, rashes, sunburns, and eczema.
Shea butter has catechins as well; a polyphenol from green tea which has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, helping prevent blemishes when used as a part of a healthy skin routine.
Moisturizer: Shea butter works like an emollient. It helps soften and smooth dry skin. Shea butter also contains substances that can reduce skin swelling and treat conditions associated with eczema.
White Ginger-Lily root extract
This plant (Hedychium Coronarium) comes from Madagascar, specifically from the Analamanga region. The white ginger-lily is an invasive species that spreads employing its rhizomes (roots). These rhizomes contain the vital reserve of the plant, mainly composed of sugars, a real energetic source that reveals its robust multiprotection activity. This detoxifying approach contributes to a better brightness on the skin.
Visible brightness perception:
Blue Light Protection: Approximately 30% of all visible light is blue light, and its primary source is from the sun. Indoors, we are exposed to it through the screens and LED lighting. White ginger-lily regulates its effects for a detoxification benefit.
In a study conducted by Seppic, 80% of women using this extract vs. placebo perceived a more radiant and homogeneous complexion with a more moisturized and suppler skin.
Air Pollution protection: Laboratory tests have shown that Hedychium coronarium root extract significantly reduces inflamamatory mediators induced by pollution.
