  • Cleanse skin daily before you go to bed with a gentle, natural cleanser. This helps get rid of dirt, makeup, and pollution, otherwise this can cause breakouts. That's why the first and most important step is to have a clean face.
  • Protect your face from the sun every single day! Even if most of the time you are indoors or if it is a cloudy day, you need to protect your skin. People who protect their skin daily from the sun’s harmful rays will have a completely different skin aging experience in comparison with those who don’t.
  • Drink plenty of water. Keep yourself hydrated. Water helps the skin get rid of toxins and deliver essential nutrients to the skin cells.
  • Don’t smoke, smoking speeds up skin aging. Toxins found in cigarettes damage elastin and collagen making wrinkles appear faster.

 

  • Keep your skin hydrated. I love using serums with hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. Hyaluronic acid helps skin appear smoother and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin C brightens skin and reduces the appearance of dark spots.
  • Include foods that are high in antioxidants in your diet like berries, green tea, kale, dark chocolate, pecans, salmon, etc. Eating right is essential for healthy skin. These foods will provide you with antioxidants that will help fight free radicals and slow signs of aging.
  • Exercise daily, stay active. Sweating is good for your skin; it brings out toxins and unclogs pores. It also reduces stress and after working out your skin starts producing more natural oils that help keep your skin hydrated.
  • Get your beauty sleep. Poor sleep increases stress hormones that can damage your skin plus it can result in puffy eyes. Without a good night's sleep your skin doesn’t get a chance to rebalance its hydration levels.
