"Life is not what you do, it's how you do it. It's not what you see, it's how you look at it. It's not not how your lif is, it's how you live it."
Life is a series of unique and individually perceived events of how things occur in our day to day lives. What one person sees might be completely different from what other people see in the same situation. For this reason, we can't compare our lives to other peoples’ because each person values particular things over others. We shape our world based on our experiences, thoughts, beliefs, and preferences. It could be said that the problem lies in how we see the problem.
What do you see in the next image? A woman? How old?
It’s very likely that you see a young woman in her 20s wearing a fur coat and a hat. What if I told you that I see something very different! In the same image try and see if you can picture a sad woman in her late 70s with a big nose and funny clothes.
Who would be right ... you or me? Now, look at the next image!
Do you see something different? What is your point of view now? Stephen R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, shows us how two people can be looking at the same thing, like you and I, and see completely different things, and believe it or not, we are both right.
Sometimes life is not how we expect it or want it to be, but we have the option to choose how to look at it. We can decide how we want to perceive our surroundings. Either way, we can decide to stay with all the negatives or value the positive aspects that come at us each and every day.
In the end, the lesson we should take away is that if we make a change in how we perceive our surroundings, we can automatically change our reality and life!
